Q: How can I join the National Alumni Association?

A: There are a couple of ways you can join. 1) You can contact your local Alumni Chapter and initiate membership though those channels or 2) You can pay online by going to www.famu.edu/alumni and click “Join Today” and follow the instructions.

Q: I’m an incoming student, are there any scholarships available to apply for?

A: Yes, the National Alumni Association has a scholarship that is available to incoming freshman and current students. You would need to contact your nearest Alumni Chapter and they will initiate the proper paperwork to determine if you’re eligible.

Q: What is the Mission of the Office of Alumni Affairs?

A: The Office of Alumni Affairs is the University’s on-campus office to service all of its alumni. The University holds its alumni in very high regard and seeks to ensure that alumni are afforded every courtesy that the University can extend to them. The Office of Alumni Affairs stands ready to provide any service that is required to achieve this mission. Chapters as well as individual alumni should contact the Office of Alumni Affairs whenever they desire the University’s assistance in any manner, at (850) 599-3861 or (850) 599-3707.

Q: What are the different types of memberships within the National Alumni Association?

A: There are several levels of memberships that are currently on the books. We have the Life Membership (A onetime payment of $750.00 to the NAA, will certify you as a Life Member), Subscribing Life Membership (3 consecutive payments of $285.00, over the course of 3 years will certify your life membership) & Regular Membership (A annual payment of $35.00 to the National Alumni Association will certify you as a member of the Association).

Q: I’m not a graduate of FAMU, yet my relatives/child attended and I would like to support the university through financial giving. Can I become a member of the National Alumni Association?

A: Yes, the National Alumni Association has a special membership type that is specifically designed for non-graduates of FAMU. If you believe in the founding principles of Florida A&M, you can become an Associate Member (Friend of the University) of the National Alumni Association. An annual payment of $35.00 will certify your membership into the association.

Q: How can I remain in contact with the Office of Alumni Affairs and the National Alumni Association?

A: There are several ways that you can remain in contact with OAA and the NAA. We’ve established social network accounts inform our Friends, Followers & Connections on everything that is going on with the university. Q: I’m a graduate of FAMU and would like to start a chapter in my area of residence, what would I have to do?

A: First, this is excellent news; we’re always looking to expand into new markets to further promote the brand that is Florida A&M University. You can contact the office of Alumni Affairs and speak with Brandon M. Hill, and Mr. Hill will be more than happy to assist you with chartering a new Alumni Chapter. Tip: Once you’ve identified 10 individuals who’re committed and willing to pay the $35.00 fee for Nationals and the respective regional fee (Determined by your location) you’ve just completed the ground work. 

Q: Who currently serves as the President of the National Alumni Association?

A: Mr. Tommy Mitchell, Sr. is currently in his 2nd term as President of the NAA.

Q: How can I get in contact with an Alumni Chapter?

A: If you contact the Office of Alumni Affairs, we’ll make sure that you get in contact with the appropriate alum, to ensure resolution to your request.
